magnetized axially through the height
magnetized axially in form of sectors
multipole magnetized on surface
The particular way of magnetizing depends on the raw material, the magnet form and the special use of the magnet.
Due to this, the relation between holding force and air gap varies despite of the same magnet form.
It may also be important, which kind of raw magnets are used. With the use of an anisotropic magnet, one of the two first mentioned ways of magnetization are generally applicable. In case of an isotropic magnet, the last possibility will normally be used.
