Closing event of the LVI Energy Efficiency Network - Target clearly exceeded

LVI_Netzwerk
The closing ceremony of the LVI Energy Efficiency Network took place on 2 December 2019. More than 10,000,000 kWh were saved annually by the participating six companies: a success story!

In 2016, the State Association of Baden-Württemberg Industry e.V. (LVI), as the project's network executing agency, and Arqum GmbH, as the network moderator and energy technology consultant, launched the LVI Energy Efficiency Network with six participating companies and a running time of three years.

As part of the Energy Efficiency Networks initiative, the joint goal of the German government and industry is to initiate and implement around 500 energy efficiency networks by the end of 2020. In this context, the LVI Energy Efficiency Network makes an important contribution to achieving the climate and energy policy goals of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Also in view of the current climate debate, the commitment of the participating organisations to the core topics of the LVI Energy Efficiency Network deserves special mention. The focus here is on increasing energy efficiency, further relieving the burden on the environment and making a positive contribution to energy system transformation.

At three energy efficiency tables each year, the participants benefited from the exchange of experience and from the technical input provided by Arqum GmbH and other external experts. The topics ranged from current issues in the field of energy efficiency to energy law requirements and current topics on industry 4.0, digitization and the Internet of things in connection with energy efficiency.

With its six cross-industry companies, the LVI Energy Efficiency Network Baden-Württemberg forms a good image of Baden-Württemberg's industry:

- Brugger GmbH Magnetsysteme
- Ernteband Fruchtsaft GmbH
- Freudenberg Sealing Technologies GmbH & Co. KG
- MAHLE International GmbH
- McKesson Europe AG
- Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH

The companies have set themselves a common savings target, which was monitored as part of the nationwide initiative Energy Efficiency Networks.

A brief overview of the savings achieved:

On the basis of the measures developed, the companies had agreed on the common goal of saving 4,700,000 kWh/year annually. However, the savings actually achieved are significantly higher: a total of slightly more than 10,300,000 kWh/year will be saved. However, the savings actually achieved are significantly higher: a total of slightly more than 10,300,000 kWh/year will be saved.

As a result of this excellent result, the network will be published in a brochure as part of the success stories of the Energy Efficiency Networks Initiative.
