We are delighted to have won this year's Environmental Award for Companies
According to a press release, the environmental award is the state government's way of recognising exemplary companies that have oriented their operations in a particularly ecological and climate-friendly manner. A total of 54 companies applied, 14 of which made it through to the final round. On 9 December 2020, the state government presented the award to a total of seven companies in different categories in Baden-Württemberg. Due to Corona, we learnt that we were a winner in the category "Industrial companies with fewer than 250 employees" in a live stream. What made it really special was that the entire Brugger team was able to follow the events live from home - while keeping their fingers crossed for us.
"We have been following a policy of environmental protection and sustainable management ever since the company was founded in 1963," says Thomas Brugger of his company's extraordinary commitment. "We are driven by the desire to save costs through the sensible and efficient use of resources and to protect our environment for ourselves and for our descendants. We see ourselves as players in the balanced triad of economy, ecology and social coexistence, not only within the company but also beyond. Material and energy efficiency are important drivers in everything we do. On a long road with a gradual reduction in our CO2 emissions, we were CO2-neutral for the first time in 2019."
We want to provide an example of how an environmentally-oriented and sustainable economy delivers good results in business, while keeping costs to the economy as low as possible and making sure we are able to give our children and grandchildren a world that is worth living in.
We feel like winners together with the other very good participants in the competition. Every single one of these excellent companies deserved this environmental award every bit as much.
