Brugger GmbH has another piece of positive news to offer shortly before the end of 2020, after the magnet specialist recently won the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Award. The company improved once again in the third audit, which the Chamber of Industry and Commerce carries out uniquely throughout Germany and in which both the company and the environment are examined on the basis of numerous aspects, and has now received the highest award of the "Attractive Employer" seal.

Hugo Frey, initiator of the seal, was impressed by the performance of the medium-sized company when he handed over the golden certificate. "You are one of the best companies in Germany," Frey said in a video message to the employees who could not be present at the award ceremony due to the pandemic. The company is one of only two audited companies that are currently allowed to advertise with the gold seal.

During the audit, which included an employee survey, Brugger GmbH was able to achieve the best results in the areas of "leadership and corporate culture", "competence development and qualification", "company health management", "family-friendliness", "remuneration and recognition" and "employer branding". However, the good results do not come as a complete surprise. In 2016, the company had already received the silver seal. In the 2018 re-audit, the family-owned company narrowly missed gold - but thanks to a further improvement, this goal could now be achieved at the end of 2020.

The company management around the two managing directors Thomas Brugger and Georg Brugger-Efinger had once again turned a few screws in the past two years to ensure further improvements. Among other things, the aim was to further promote the talents of the employees in order to enable them to advance. In addition, management workshops were held. "This was particularly about personality development and problem-solving processes," says Brugger.
A personality test and role plays were also used to obtain the employees' behavioural preferences. Human Resources Manager Eva-Maria Rapp explains the background: "This was to help everyone find out how their counterpart "ticks" and possibly reacts to feedback". Managing Director Brugger was able to experience first-hand that this led to success. "When I received feedback from an employee in logistics, I knew it had been received," he says with satisfaction. This showed that employees and bosses really do meet at eye level in the company. Brugger-Efinger emphasises: "That is simply part of mutual respect."

For the initiator, this example makes it clear why Brugger Magnetsysteme was justifiably awarded the golden seal. "For feedback among each other, it is necessary to create an appropriate climate. You really do that perfectly," says Frey. In addition, internal communication has been further improved, there has been a successful changeover in the area of health management and the corona management, which has also been included, has also been "top rated", explains Frey.

For the company, however, the award is no reason to let up now. According to Rapp, the audit has led to a reflection on what has already been done and achieved in the past years - but the company does not want to rest on its laurels. "We have now received a methodology from the IHK," says Brugger. This should help the company to remain one of the most attractive employers in the whole of Germany.
